Stop the Noise: How Intrusive UI Hurts Your Users and Your Business

How many times have you encountered annoying ads, intrusive pop-ups, modal windows, or those persistent cookie consent messages you can’t even close? Many users get frustrated with this kind of intrusive content that disrupts the user experience and adds noise to the UI design.

What’s really happening is this: there’s this “let’s do the bare minimum to make it work” mindset, plus a shameless legal shield with messages like:

“Do you want us to share your info with our 608 partners?”

— No thanks, big no from me.

User experience is the absolute last thing anyone thinks about. That ends up hurting how many customers stick around, so they cling even harder to squeezing money out of the few they still have.

What to do?

  • - Take an empathy class. (Sorry, but it’s true.)
  • - Reduce friction: make content easy to access and understand.
  • - Be honest: a simple clear message beats a thousand sneaky tricks.

Did you read this post? What did they say to you?
